Weleveld estate - Overijssel - the Netherlands
Golf course Weleveld was opened on May 1st, 2015. It is situated in an old “Twentsch” landscape with its characteristic natural elements such as two streams and many beautiful, mature and solitary oaks.
An oasis of tranquility, far away from the daily hustle and bustle, Jol Golf Design was given the opportunity to design a 9-hole golf course with a total length of 5470m (5.983 yards) and a par of 70.
The course optimizes and further enhances the existing natural beauty of the landscape. Gentle rolling fairways, robust-looking bunkers with a whimsical character, natural looking grassland and, where possible, the re-introduction of heather. All this inspired by the classic British Heathland courses.

Medieval Weleveld, is a permanent exhibition on the early history of the estate. It is situated next to the ''huisplaats'', the site where Weleveld castle once stood. It consists of 35 man-size statues. They narrate the story of the first manor built by Bernard and Otto van Weleveld and at the same time give an insight in the social structure of the medieval society in Twente around 1300.
Walking & Bike Trails
There is a variety of walking and bike trails. The Kloosterpad trail has three different lengths, namely 5, 8.5 and 11 kilometres. A booklet is available at EUR 5,00, only in Dutch. Another walking trail crossing the estate is part of a long distance international trail named Marskramerpad.
The WAT bike trail covers the Weleveld, Almelo and Twickel estates. All other bike trails are part of the Regio Twente trails. Maps available at Rabo Scheele Pleisterplaats.
