Café Restaurant 't Hoogspel

At just a few hundred meters from Twickel Castle, you can enjoy the hospitality of Café Restaurant 't Hoogspel. This place has a rich and fascinating history. The founder of 't Hoogspel was a tailor. He built the café next to the house to provide guests with a drink. In those days it was not that suited to go to a café and therefore the tailor and his wife played a risky game (in Dutch 'hoog spel') with the baron van Heeckeren of Twickel Castle. Today, 't Hoogspel is mainly associated with cosiness and hospitality.
